Hello, my name is Eric Beresheim, I attend Siena College. I am majoring in Finance and minoring in Entrepreneurship. I studied abroad in Shanghai, People's Republic of China through Alliance. China offers a great sense of international business and a culture shock that spreads through commerce, communication, and tons of things custom to eastern culture.

Joseph Wisniewski

International Business in China - Shanghai, China
Bryant University - Finance Major
jwisniewski@bryant.edu

Hey! My name is Joe Wisniewski and I am a junior at Bryant University in Rhode Island studying Finance. I had the opportunity to study abroad with Alliance in Shanghai for my fall 2014 semester. What a great experience! This was an unbelievable trip where you show up knowing no one, and leave as one huge family. I couldn't have asked for more from the program Alliance provided (except maybe another semester or two). I look forward to ensuring others will make the right choice and study abroad with Alliance in the future to have the same experience I enjoyed in my time abroad!

Victoria Hirsch

Global and Public Health - Manipal, India
University of Alabama Birmingham - Psychology Major
vchir@uab.edu

Hi! I am a Psychology student at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I studied at Manipal University during the Fall semester of 2014. It was truly a wonderful experience for me and led to lots of brain expansion for sure. I believe that spending time abroad helps to eliminate ignorance and encourages open mindness. As far as I can tell, no other American based study abroad program facilitates that experience better than The Alliance. This is why I am excited to be an Alumni Ambassador so that I can help future students wanting to study abroad plan their trip the best way possible and be prepared for the new semester.

Namaste! My name is Samantha Giffen, and I am currently a junior studying public health and microbiology as University of Massachusetts Amherst. I studied abroad in the Global and Public Health Program in Manipal India during Fall Semester 2014. This program taught me a lot about public health and gave me a better perspective in the idea of global health. I learned a lot from my Surveillance of Infectious Disease Class as well as my Ayurveda and Indian Traditions of Healing Class. I also participated in Directed Research in a Microbiology lab which I thought was a very valuable learning experience.

Namaste! My name is Danielle Richer and I spent spring 2014 in Manipal, Karnataka, India. At my home school, Elon University, I study psychology and am pre-med. In India, I took classes in Public Health, Hindi and a Geopolitics class. My semester in India was one of the best experiences in my life so far. It was amazing to really get to know Manipal, from the academics to the students, but also getting to see and understand Southern India. I'm currently planning post graduation plans to go back!

My name is Lauren Boeckermann and I am currently a junior at the University of South Carolina. I am pursuing a degree in Public Health with minors in Medical Humanities and Women and Gender Studies all while planning on attending medical school. In the spring of 2015, I participated in the Global and Public Health Program in Manipal, India. During my time abroad, I shadowed in the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department at the Manipal University Hospital and enjoyed my integrated Indian Film class. I have made it my mission to try all of the Indian restaurants in my college town to determine which restaurants have the best dosas and samosas. Studying abroad through the Alliance program has been my favorite collegiate experience to date and I can’t wait to meet prospective students.
