Students, parents, faculty, and advisors can rely on the Alliance for Global Education to provide insightful guidance and thorough support services throughout their experience. Before departure, students may contact their U.S.-based Program Advisor with any questions or concerns.
Once students arrive overseas, our Resident Directors and on-site staff lead orientation programs and are available to students at all times for academic and personal support and practical advice. They work to enhance students' study abroad experience through planned cultural activities, lectures, field study trips, and social events.
Resident Director, Israel
Monica Wasserbach has been involved in international education for the past 22 years. Helping students navigate through their experience in Israel, which she calls "a perfect intercultural communication laboratory," is her passion. Since 2011, Monica has lived in Israel working in global business, and interfaith and coexistence projects. As the IFSA-Butler Resident Director in Israel, she provides rich academic and managerial experience for our programs in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Monica began working in Israel as a Madricha (coordinator) of South American students at the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem after leaving Argentina at the age of 18, her country of birth. While in Buenos Aires, Monica founded and led a language school for foreigners. She completed her BA in Applied Linguistics and worked as a Spanish teacher and Spanish Baccalaureate Expert for the Swiss Department of Education. Later, she completed her MA in Intercultural and Interreligious Communication at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, and she studied Business Sciences and Tourism at the School of Business at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences.
