Internships
As of spring 2008, the Alliance is offering an exciting internship course in both the Beijing BLCU and Shanghai SUFE. Internships are available in the spring, summer, and fall terms.
Placements
At SUFE, internships are offered in various areas of business at both Chinese and multi-national companies. In Beijing, the internship placements will include Chinese and foreign business, NGOs, and government organizations. We will make every effort to match the placements with your interests.

Pre-requisites
You must have completed 3 semesters of Chinese to participate in the internship.
Limited availability
Initially, the internships are limited to 5 placements in Beijing and 5 at SUFE in order to ensure high quality placements. We will expand the number of placements available in the future.
Spots are competitive and you will need to apply for the course when you complete the courses selection forms.
Credit and course requirements
The internship course are worth 3 credits and will replace one of the area studies or business courses usually taken at BLCU or SUFE.
You are awarded credit for the academic component of the internship. You will complete a research project, including a 3000 word paper in English. Your work will be supervised throughout the term by a professor who will meet with you individually every two weeks.
In the fall and spring semesters, you will spend 10-12 hours per week (or 120 hours semester) at your internship. In the summer term, you will spend 20 hours per week at your internship. (Note that in addition to language, summer students only take one area studies or business content course. If you choose the internship, you will not take any other content courses.)
