Alliance Alumni Ambassadors are wrapping up a busy semester! New to the program this year is Digital Storytelling. Digitial Storytelling is a unique form of digital media that gives everyday people the opportunity to share a part of their life story. Alumni have used this method to explore their engagement within their host communities and communicate the value of study abroad to others. Our Outstanding Blogger of the Month is Varanasi student Lara Neher of McPherson College! Ebola Screening for India

The Alliance is closely monitoring the Ebola outbreak in West Africa for any potential impact on our programs in China and India.  While the CDC and WHO have determined that the current risk for contagion outside of West Africa is minimal and we see no reason to modify program operations or preparations at this time, it is possible that our Spring 2015 India students may be subjected to additional screening for the Ebola virus upon entering India.

Small-scale Explosion in Pune

On Thursday, July 10th, there was a small-scale explosion near Dagdusheth Ganapati Temple in Pune.  All Pune students and staff are safe, and are currently outside of the city on an overnight village excursion. The Alliance will continue to monitor the situation and take any necessary precautions to ensure our students’ safety.
